Vanessa Curto is a writer, choreographer, and teacher. She holds an
M.F.A. in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago
and a B.A. in English from Rice University. Vanessa has staged three
full-length dance theater works:
Write on Water, The Book of Tango,
and
The Circus of Angels, funded by awards from Rice University, the
School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and the Houston Playwright’s
Festival. Her other dance theater works have been performed at the
Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, Columbia College
Chicago, Links Hall and the Full Circle Festival of Danztheatre.
Vanessa has held university teaching positions at the School of the
Art Institute of Chicago and St. Augustine College.


Vanessa has a deep love of spiritual dance. She has studied and
performed sacred dances in Chicago,
Washington, DC, Santa Fe,
Austria, H
ungary and Italy. Vanessa currently co-facilitates
Gurdjieff Movements classes for a Work group in Silver Spring,
and co-facilitates a Law of Attraction group in Washington, DC.
She is a senior copywriter at the Bureau of National Affairs, Inc.
